We wanted to have a warm lunch there but unfortunately they offer only toasts at that time there. So we stayed only for coffee and cake. But the flat white wasn't strong enough and the cake was dry and hard. But good staff and a nice place to sit.

The food was lovely, if a bit on the expensive side but to be expected in a hotel restaurant. The waiting staff were very good and attentive. The atmosphere should have been lovely and could be so easily improved - for some reason they were playing cheesy hits loudly, the sort of music that would get me dancing in a club at 2am but not what you want as you are eating dinner in a restaurant.

I went to try the pie sharing platter that is available this March. For £50 you can feed four with and incredible sharing platter with 4 pies, Manchester Caviar (mushy peas), onions rings, carrots and fries. Oh and served with unlimited gravy. The line up was: 1. Pot roast chicken, bacon and peas 2. 14 hour braised local beef and ale 3. Sweet potato, pearl barley and kale 4. Classic Lancashire cheese and onion My favourite was the beef and ale as the ammount of meat in their was unreal. The beef was rich and made for a decent pie. Each pie was absolutely amazing in its own way, I unfortunately didn't get a picture of the sweet potato pie but I can tell you that it was the most flavoursome in my opinion. To be honest it was hard choosing as each pie was fantastic. Once finished we chose our favourite pie to stay on the menu. I need to head back here and check out the regular menu

Bang average. Whilst the food was top notch and was a solid 9/10, the 2 staff that were on were clearly overwhelmed and not very experienced. Took several minutes to be seated as there were no staff on the shop floor originally with only 3 tables in. Dirty menus, empty salt shakers, glasses with lipstick on served and coffee served without sugar or a teaspoon. Had a discount voucher to use and staff tried to haggle on the discount amount trying not to honour the full amount originally which I found very strange. Music was 00s RnB which didn’t fit in for a Sunday dinner vibe. Both staff were nice but clearly inexperienced. 2 star service with 5 star prices.

We went in here after watching a show at the AO Arena and it was close by, fairly quiet, lovely atmosphere and polite service. We intended having one drink then getting an Uber but ended up having a couple and being there over an hour. The bathrooms were nice (although down a few stairs), empty glasses were cleared, tables were clean. A pint of Mahou, a pint of Kopparberg and a pint of coke zero was about £17. We didn't eat and the menu looked a bit pricey (£20 for a burger or fish and chips, £10 for a garlic pizza bread). Cocktails looked good. Would go back again but would only eat there for a special occasion.

I was intrigue from my daily commute to see a lot of people dining for breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner. And has read highly recommended reviews from food critics. True enough, me and my family were not let down with our first experience celebrating a special occasion. Pleasing and wonderful staff added a special treat! We will definitely be coming back for more!

Hotel brilliant as were the staff, however told we has been upgraded in our room which was hard to see and the view out of the window confirmed this. Didn't appreciate while having evening meal people were allowed to come into the bar/restaurant and order drinks which in itself is probably ok however they were very drunk and loud . Breakfast was brilliant though.

The restaurant and bar are really aesthetically-pleasing. However, that's where the positives stop. Service was really slow and the food was poor. We both ordered sirloin steak and waited almost an hour for it. I asked for medium-rare and you can see how overcooked it was in the pictures.

Welcome to Mamucium, a charming culinary haven nestled in the heart of Manchester, at 6 Todd St. This restaurant, located within a hotel, brings an intriguing blend of local flavors and a modern dining experience. In the bustling neighborhood, Mamucium offers a cozy atmosphere that's perfect for both casual snacks and special occasions.

One cannot overlook the standout dishes that have garnered attention and rave reviews. The pie sharing platter available this March is a must-try. For just £50, diners can feast on a generous platter featuring four sumptuous pies, including a pot roast chicken with bacon, a 14-hour braised local beef and ale, a sweet potato creation, and the classic Lancashire cheese and onion. Each pie is a testament to the culinary heritage of the region, with the beef and ale pie particularly celebrated for its richness and generous filling.

Despite some reviewers noting inconsistencies in service and atmosphere, like the choice of upbeat music that feels out of place during dinner, the essence of Mamucium shines through. The attentive waiting staff elevate the experience, making it clear that they genuinely care about their guests' dining. However, it’s essential to approach with an understanding of the pricing, as the menu can lean toward the expensive side, typical for hotel restaurants.

While options for a warm lunch might be limited to toasts at certain times, the café’s coffee and cake offerings have room for improvement, as noted by visitors who found their sweet treats wanting. Yet, the ambiance remains a draw, especially after shows at the nearby AO Arena, attracting patrons looking for a cozy spot to unwind and enjoy a refreshing drink.

In closing, Mamucium invites you to discover its unique offerings while being mindful of the potential fluctuations in service. Whether you're indulging in the pie platter or sipping cocktails after a night out, it’s clear that Mamucium aims to blend traditional flavors with contemporary flair. So come hungry and enjoy a taste of Manchester's vibrant culinary scene!
